Researchers: Dr Briony Larance (Principal investigator)

Brief description The profile of illicit opioid use in Australia has shifted over the past decade, with fewer new heroin users and substantial increases in extra-medical pharmaceutical opioid use. This Fellowship utilises longitudinal and health surveillance data to examine pharmaceutical opioid use and health consequences among growing and hidden populations. It will provide important new evidence for how best to improve the prescribing of pharmaceutical opioids and respond to illicit opioid use.
