Brief description Medical advances have enabled doctors to prolong lives, yet some treatments towards the end of life have little chance of benefiting the patient. These treatments cause moral distress to clinicians and increase risk of a ‘bad’ death by prolonging or increasing patient suffering. This project will reduce non-beneficial treatment given to people at the end-of-life in hospital, by increasing doctors’ awareness of the extent and impacts of non-beneficial treatment in this group.
