The namespace on this resolver is divided into numerous segments termed domains. Subdomains are privately controlled segments of the namespace that exist under other segments of the namespace. The segments of the namespace that have no others above them are called top level domains. If these terms are unfamiliar to you, please read about them in the PURL FAQ before continuing.

Any registered user can create a subdomain under the top level domain /NET/ because /NET/ is a public namespace. If you already have a private top-level domain of your own you can create the new subdomain under your top level domain instead. See the request top level domain form to request a top-level domain. More information about domains is available in the PURL FAQ.
