Title Modelling Trust in e-Commerce
Contributors
Abstract Trust is an important aspect of decision making in e-commerce. A major challenge for users, vendors of technology and e-service providers world-wide is to develop cost-effective methods to manage trust in a way that meets business needs, both in the short term and as the enterprise expands. To meet this challenge, we need to improve the existing modelling techniques in order to incorporate trust elements in the development and execution of e-commerce technology. In this paper provide a working definition of trust that is relevant to e-commerce, summarise current trends in formalising trust, and discuss plans for developing an integrated modelling framework to accommodate and correlate trust and risk management. In doing so, we indicate which aspects of existing models we find particularly useful and suggest a form of integration that seems to facilitate a solution.
