Biography

Mark A. Matienzo is an Applications Developer in the Digital Experience Group of the New York Public Library. As of September 2008, he is Co-Chair of the RLG Programs Roundtable, Web Liaison of the Metadata and Digital Object Roundtable, and a member of the Description Section Steering Committee, the Metadata and Digital Object Roundtable Steering Committee, the Technical Subcommittee on Descriptive Standards, and the Web Working Group, all of the Society of American Archivists (SAA). He was Chair of SAA's Description Section from 2007-2008.

Prior to joining the New York Public Library, he worked as assistant archivist for systems and metadata at the Niels Bohr Library & Archives of the American Institute of Physics, as project cataloging archivist at the National Anthropological Archives of the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, and as catalog librarian at ProQuest Information and Learning. He received his MSI from the School of Information at the University of Michigan and a BA in Philosophy from the College of Wooster.
