The ‘Agnus dei’ in Thomas Crequillon’s Missa Pis ne me Peult is for six voices (the sexta pars is included in the bassus part book).
On the dedication page there is a woodcut of singer and a sackbut player standing round a choir book singing while the mass is celebrated. Only the tenor part book contains the dedication.
The Contra tenor part book has this poem on the cover (after the privilege): STEPHA. SCHYROTI PANNOII / Carmen in Altum. Non tibi qui lubos ueneris & lubrica cantas, / Sed numen recolis, fecimus illud opus. / Te quia par fuerat blandas optasse camoenas, / Quae captant molli pectora uana sono. / Hic clandum nihil est, est isthec musa pudoris / Ergo uale quisquis turpia plectra petis. (The superius has a ‘Carmen in discantem’ and the bassus a ‘Carmen in Bassum’ but on the verso of the first leaf.)
Copy at K.2.e.5.(1.). Monogram ‘SANA’ stamped on titlepage on superius, contra tenor, tenor and bassus part books. An extra half leaf with the ‘Pleni sunt coeli’ (between fol. xi and xii) of P de Manchicourt’s Missa Cuides vos has been added to the tenor part book; the additional leaf also has a correction pasted on for the first note; occasional annotations or added bar lines in pencil in superius and bassus part books; the date ‘1560’ is written on the cover of the tenor part book.
