The book was issued more than fifty-eight times in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, starting with RISM B/I 1539/22 (see Bridges). Attributions vary in the different editions and, in some cases, they are conflicting.

Copy at K.2.d.19.(1.). Tenor part book only. This copy probably belonged to Michel Whiler, whose name is written on the title page. The initials M.W. are also engraved on the remains of an earlier binding, pasted inside the current binding. The volume also bears the bookplate of W.H. Cummings. The print does not appear in the catalogue of the auction of Cummings’s collection held at Sotheby’s on 17-24 May 1917.
