Brief description Selenoproteins play an important role in a variety of major diseases. Yet knowledge of the biology of selenium and its role in disease prevention and progression is not sufficient to recommend selenium supplementation for disease prevention or treatment. The broad aim of this research is to identify and characterise the response of selenoproteins to selenium supplementation and disease states.
