Brief description Approximately 200 million clinical cases of malaria are treated globally each year. Alarmingly, resistance to the most highly effective antimalarial drugs, has emerged in Southeast Asia, jeopardizing malaria control. This project will develop novel mathematical models that predict the action of the antimalarial drug within an infected individual to inform the malaria community of optimal treatment strategies in areas where resistance has emerged.
