Abstract
The topic of this report is the initial characterisation of different metal photocathodes in an NCRF photoinjector. Unfortunately, due to delays in the installation and commissioning of the high repetition rate gun (HRRG) on the VELA beam line at STFC Daresbury Laboratory it has not been possible to fully complete this milestone. However, this report describes progress towards the completion and provides a prediction of the potential completion date, which will be outside the final end date for the EuCARD-2 project. Progress has included the full commissioning of the cathode preparation system and load-lock for transfer into the RF gun and the establishment of the various experimental techniques for in-accelerator characterisation of the photocathodes. Full completion of this milestone is expected within 3-6 months of the end of the project.
