Title The State of NeXus
Contributors
Abstract NeXus is scientific data format based on HDF-5, HDF-4 and XML. NeXus is already being used at many synchrotron or neutron facilities. NeXus adds to the underlying physical file format a dictionary of common fields, a structure for organising information, rules for storing certain kinds of information and verifiable standards for a number of experimental techniques. An overview of the NeXus data format and its development in the last few years will be given. Highlights include: • The release of the NeXus-API 4.3 • The first release of a set of NeXus application definitions • State of the collaboration with the CIF group in order to express CIF in NeXus • Manual and WWW-site updates • The use of NeXus within the german high data rate initiative. • A collaboration with the detector manufacturer DECTRIS with the aim to use NeXus/HDF-5 for storing data from the upcoming EIGER detector.
